Space Station Flyover with SpaceX Dragon Endeavour through a Telescope

With Dragon Endeavour docked to the ISS, I thought no time would be greater than now to make my first attempt at imaging the ISS. To know that five people are currently living on this station as it soars overhead and orbits the Earth every 90 minutes is incredible!

How I took the video: After researching when a good pass of the ISS over my house was going to occur I used the finderscope of my Orion XT8i telescope to follow the ISS as a DSLR camera shot 1080p video at 60 FPS. My wife helped by letting me know when I was getting a solid track on the ISS by viewing the DSLR’s screen.

Flyover:
6/1/2020, 9:53 p.m. EDT

Equipment Used:
Orion XT8i, 2x Barlow, 9×50 Finderscope Canon SL2, 1080p, 60 fps
App Used: SkySafari 6 Plus

How to find Jupiter this Summer

This summer we will have some incredible views of our largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter. In today’s video we are going to take a look at when and where you need to look to find this planet from June through September. After this we will talk about the most useful magnifications to view it and what you can hope to see from Jupiter through your own telescope.

I Built a PC For Astrophotography

In this video, I’ll show you my first PC build dedicated to astrophotography and video editing. It was a great experience putting this system together and I hope this video helps you figure out what might work best for a similar build of your own.

Here are all of the specific parts for this build: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/bkGG3C

Here is a video I followed from Linus Tech Tips to piece together the build: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7MYO…

Let’s Observe Venus Together

Tonight, we are going to go out and observe one of the brightest objects in the night sky, Venus. This is a fairly easy and enjoyable sight to see through binoculars, telescope or just the naked eye. Please join me as we explore this beautiful target in the night sky and let me know about your observations in the comment section below.

How to find Comet Swan

As Comet Atlas breaks apart, Comet Swan enters the neighborhood! This May, Comet Swan has the potential to be an interesting target to explore in the sky just before sunrise. In this video, I’ll take you through “SkySafari Plus” to show you what parts of the sky Comet Swan will be traveling through as it makes it’s closest approach to Earth on May 12th.

How to find Comet Atlas

This April and May, Comet Atlas has the potential to be one of the greatest sites in astronomy. In this video, I’ll take you through “SkySafari Plus” to show you what parts of the sky Comet Atlas will be traveling through as it makes it’s closest approach to Earth on May 23rd. What better way to bring people together during this difficult time than a Comet that a good portion of the population will be able to see and experience together from our own backyards. Music:
